Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BCGI), a UK-based conservation organization, has published a database called GlobalTreeSearch containing information about all of the 60,065 tree species in the world and their distribution. BCGI built GlobalTreeSearch, the first database of its kind, with data from over 500 sources to provide conservationists with a single, comprehensive tool for understanding biodiversity and protecting threatened tree species. GlobalTreeSearch reveals some interesting insights into the world’s population, such as how Brazil is home to the highest number of 8,715 different tree species, 58 percent of which only grow in Brazil, making conservation efforts particularly important in the country.

Take a look.
