The Center for Data Innovation hosted a conversation on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at 1:00 PM EST with Lauren Klein on her new book Data Feminism, co-authored with Catherine D’Ignazio. The book describes how data science is a new form of power that can be used to challenge systemic inequality, and discusses both the ways in which data scientists can learn from feminism about how to use this power to pursue justice and the ways in which feminists can focus their efforts on data science. The authors present seven core principles that outline strategies for challenging and changing power imbalances in data science.
