Book Talk on “The Equality Machine” with Orly Lobel

by Daniel Castro

The Center for Data Innovation will host a conversation with Orly Lobel on her new book The Equality Machine. Lobel demonstrates how digital technology frequently has a comparative advantage over humans in detecting discrimination, correcting historical exclusions, subverting long-standing stereotypes, and addressing the world’s thorniest problems, including climate, poverty, literacy, health, safety, and accessibility. Rather than stopping technological development or criticizing big data and automation, Lobel argues society can benefit from steering it to noble purposes.

Join the Center for Data Innovation for a conversation with Lobel, about how society can harness technology for good.
