Open Dataset of Flood Risk in England

Flood risk

The UK’s Environment Agency published a dataset showing the risk of river and sea flooding under the Open Government Licence, which licenses the data for free reuse by the public. The flood dataset, previously known as the National Flood Risk Assessment Spatial Flood Likelihood Category Grid, splits England into a grid of 50 m2 cells and relies on local expertise to assess flood risk across several categories, such as the presence and condition of flood defenses. The Environment Agency publishes flood data to increase public awareness about the likelihood of flooding and to encourage local authorities to take action to mitigate flooding risk.
