Publishing Open Science Data in Europe

The Joint Research Centre (JRC), the European Commission’s scientific research organization, has made its catalog of 490 research data sets created by JRC and other publicly-funded organizations publicly available as open data. JRC published the data to fulfill the recommendations of European Commission’s Open Science strategy, which encourages member states to publish publicly-funded research results to promote transparency and innovation. JRC will add more data sets on a regular basis.
