The Syrian Archive, an initiative to raise awareness about human rights violations in Syria, has published its video archive of all alleged attacks by the Russian military that killed or injured Syrian civilians from September 29, 2015 to April 30, 2016. The Syrian Archive compiled 1,561 videos of these attacks captured by journalists, citizens, activist organizations, and social media websites. To vet all of the videos and compile only videos related to Russian military attacks, the Syrian Archive developed an extensive verification process, including relying primarily on reputable sources, analyzing video metadata, comparing landmarks in videos to Google Earth satellite imagery to verify where they were filmed, cross referencing each video with news stories, and verifying the source of the weaponry used in an attack.
