The Washington, D.C. Department of Transportation has begun publishing data about vehicle crashes in the city on the government’s open data portal on a daily basis. The dataset includes information on where the crash occurred, the number of injuries reported, the severity of injuries, and the mode of travel involved such as cars, taxis, or bicycles. The information will assist Vision Zero, a city initiative to eliminate vehicle fatalities and serious injuries in D.C. by 2024.
