Researchers from Carnegie Mellon University and University of Tokyo have published the Car Accident and Prediction Dataset (CADP), which contains over 1,400 traffic camera accident videos, to improve accident forecasting. The researchers gathered the videos from YouTube and annotated the videos both by object, such as person, car, and bus, as well as the time when each accident begins and ends. Predicting traffic accidents could help efforts to improve autonomous vehicle safety.
