Automating‌ ‌Summaries‌ ‌of‌ ‌Scientific‌ ‌Papers‌ ‌ ‌

Researchers from Yale University and the University of Washington have released a dataset of 1,000 scientific papers, sentences from other research that cite the reference paper, and summaries to advance the development of systems that can automatically summarize scientific research. While abstracts discuss the content of papers, they often fail to convey the impact of the paper on the scientific community. The researchers used the citing sentences to write summaries that convey the content and impact of the paper.
