The U.S. Geological Survey has partnered with the Australian and Canadian governments to create CMiO-MIN, a dataset mapping how critical minerals occur in ore deposits worldwide. The dataset adds 13,000 mineral-chemistry measurements, linking mineral composition to geological features to support resource exploration and assessment. The standardized data gives researchers and industry insight into where future critical-mineral resources could be located.
