Journalists from The Trace, a nonprofit news organization, and BuzzFeed have released a dataset of violent crimes from 56 U.S. law enforcement entities. The dataset includes both original data from government agencies and standardized data that the researchers modified to use common fields and classifications. The dataset includes information on more than 3,000 shootings that have occurred in Boston, which researchers can filter by factors such as location, age, and race. The data can help researchers and policymakers address gun violence issues in the United States.
