Researchers from Carnegie Mellon University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Tongji University in China, and Microsoft have released TartanAir, a dataset of information collected from virtual agents traveling in 30 different simulated environments to advance the development of autonomous navigation. TartanAir includes images, LiDAR point clouds, and data about the depth of objects in those images. The researchers gathered the data in different simulated light and weather conditions as well as through various movement patterns, such as responses to near-collisions.
