The Program on Extremism at George Washington University, which analyzes issues related to violent and nonviolent extremism, has created a dataset to record the number of individuals charged by the federal government for their involvement in the January 6 siege on the U.S. Capitol. The dataset includes the name, age, gender, and home state of each person, along with the date they were charged. As of January 24, 2021, the dataset includes 143 individuals. The data shows that the federal government has brought charges against 124 men and 19 women who come from 37 states and the District of Columbia.
