Researchers at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam have created a spatial dataset of critical infrastructure around the world. The dataset shows the location of 39 types of critical infrastructure, including railways, landfills, pharmacies, and communication towers, grouped into 7 categories: education, energy, health, telecommunication, transportation, waste, and water. Researchers can use the dataset to identify locations with high concentrations of critical infrastructure and develop contingency plans in case of local emergencies.
