Improving Autonomous Vehicle Capabilities

Researchers at Loughborough University in the United Kingdom have released a dataset called the Synthetic Digital City Dataset, comprising over 900,000 synthetically generated, high-resolution images to improve the training of depth perception models in autonomous vehicles. Traditionally, this training has relied on low-resolution images with limited depth data. The dataset is rich in images simulated across a variety of weather conditions and topographies.
