Harvard University researchers have collaborated with Google Research scientists to release the largest-ever dataset of neural connections in human brain tissue. Using electron microscopy, a technique for obtaining high-resolution images of very small specimens, and AI algorithms, the researchers reconstructed tens of thousands of neural pathways. These maps will help scientists discover new insights into brain function and disease.
