The Data Liberation Project (DLP), an initiative that seeks to provide public access to government datasets, has published a dataset containing records on boating accidents in the United States between 2009 and 2022. The Department of Homeland Security mandates that states and U.S. territories report relevant accident data regularly, and DLP obtained these records by filing a FOIA request. For each accident, the dataset includes the year, vessel, and any deaths or injuries involved.
