Reality Labs, a research unit at Meta that produces virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) hardware and software, has published a dataset that contains 3D digital representations of roughly 2,400 objects. The lab created the dataset by building digital twins of physical objects of different shapes, materials, and size for e-commerce, entertainment, and advertisement. The dataset can help AR and VR researchers and developers train, fine-tune, and evaluate machine learning algorithms for building digital twins.
