Examining Italian Government Procurement

Researchers at the University of Turin in Italy have created a dataset that contains information on Italy’s government procurement contracts—roughly 12 percent of the country’s GDP—between 2016 and 2023. The researchers added geographic information about the contracts to allow researchers to explore how the Italian government awards state contracts in different parts of the country.
