Researchers from the China University of Mining and Technology have developed the first large-scale, open-source dataset for intelligent coal sorting, capturing over 270,000 images of coal, waste rock, and foreign objects from three mining regions in China. They installed industrial cameras along conveyor belts in real production environments to collect and annotate the images, creating a dataset that enables AI systems to more accurately identify and separate materials during processing.
