U.S.-based research institute Oxus Society for Central Asian Affairs has created a dataset mapping how more than 100 commodities, including oil, uranium, and metals, move from extraction to export across five Central Asian countries. The tracker highlights Kazakhstan’s dominance in natural gas and critical minerals while showing Europe and China as top buyers. It also reveals how reliance on Russian transport routes still limits the region’s trade flexibility.
