Researchers at Zhejiang University in China have created a dataset that standardises how marine macroalgae are assessed for their ability to absorb excess nutrients from coastal waters. They compiled over 2,000 records from 23 countries, capturing nutrient‑removal rates, efficiencies, and the environmental conditions in which they were recorded. By combining these variables, the dataset highlights macroalgae performance across different coastal environments.
