The U.S. Department of Transportation has published a dataset of the smart city projects proposed by the seven finalists of the agency’s Smart City Challenge, which Columbus, Ohio won in June 2016. The dataset contains the 743 total projects proposed by Columbus, as well as Austin, Texas; Denver, Colorado; Kansas City, Missouri; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Portland, Oregon; and San Francisco, California. The proposals detail plans to use sensor networks and connected devices to address issues related to the environment, mobility, and public safety.
