The U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has released a dataset of more than 50 million policy transactions and 2.4 million damage claims from the National Flood Insurance Program between 1970 and 2018. The dataset includes information on $70 billion in payments, including the location, occupancy, and construction date of covered structures. Researchers can use this data to understand the cost and locations of floods.
