Researchers at the University of Parma in Italy and the University of Florida in the United States have created a dataset of 8,262 public companies listed in the New York Stock Exchange or NASDAQ, two U.S.-based stock exchanges, from 1999 to 2018. For each company, the dataset lists 18 annual accounting and financial variables that characterize its financial health, such as current assets or cost of goods sold, as well as whether the company filed for bankruptcy the following year. Financial researchers can use the dataset to train bankruptcy prediction models.
