U.K. Technology Secretary Pledges Legislation to Limit AI Risks Next Year
The U.K. Secretary of State for Science, Technology and Innovation pledged at the Financial Times’ Future of AI summit that the British government will introduce a bill in 2025 that would make the currently voluntary agreements with developers on AI testing legally binding and turn the U.K. AI Safety Institute into a government agency with expanded jurisdiction and functions.
