Improving Soccer Game Analytics

Researchers at the German Sport University Cologne and the German Football League have created a dataset that includes detailed player movement data (spatiotemporal) and  in-game actions data from seven matches played by first- and second-division teams in the German Bundesliga, a professional German football league. The dataset includes metadata on matches and participants, along with precise timestamps for key events such as passes, shots, and tackles. This dataset is novel in that it  provides accessible high-quality tracking data from a multi-camera system and machine learning programs, overall improving accuracy and reliability in soccer analytics.
