Senator Cruz Introduces Bill Banning Deepfake Revenge Porn Publication on Social Media Platforms

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has introduced the Tools to Address Known Exploitation by Immobilizing Technological Deepfakes on Websites and Networks (TAKE IT DOWN) Act, which criminalizes the publication of non-consensual intimate imagery, including AI-generated deepfake pornography. The bill also requires social media platforms to put in place procedures to remove such content upon notification from a victim.

Senator Cantwell Introduces AI Bill to Boost Small Businesses

U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) has introduced the bipartisan Small Business Artificial Intelligence Training and Toolkit Act of 2024 to help small businesses leverage AI systems by authorizing the U.S. Department of Commerce to work with the Small Business Administration to create and distribute AI training resources. The bill also authorizes the Secretary of Commerce to create a grant program for organizations providing AI training resources developed under this bill.
