U.S. Senators Mike Rounds (R-SD) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM), and U.S. Representatives French Hill (R-AR) and Ritchie Torres (D-NY) have introduced the Unleashing AI Innovation in Financial Services Act. The bill requires each financial regulatory agency to establish a regulatory sandbox that allows financial institutions to experiment with AI products and services without the expectation of enforcement actions as they haven’t entered the market. The bill also mandates that regulatory agencies submit an annual report on AI test projects to the relevant committees in the House of Representatives and the Senate.
