Foursquare, a New York-based geospatial software company, has published an open-source dataset that includes roughly 100 million places of interest around the world, including restaurants, shopping malls, schools, and other public and private establishments. For each place, the dataset includes the name, the address, the geographic latitude and longitude, contact information, and the relevant category. The dataset can help app developers and digital service providers create new products and services for which accurate geolocation is necessary.
