The Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics in Germany has created a visual mapping X-ray sources across roughly half the Milky Way using data from the eROSITA’s sky survey. The visual highlights nearly two million detections, including stars, black holes, galaxy clusters, and supernova remnants, alongside observations in optical and infrared light. Lower-energy X-rays appear in red, medium-energy in green, and higher-energy in blue.
