Visualizing the Impact of Gun Violence in the United States

The Washington Post has created a series of graphs showing how gun deaths and gun injuries have grown to record numbers in the United States. One graph shows that there were 19,380 gun-related deaths in 2020, the largest number of gun-related deaths in the past 20 years. Another graph shows that despite the ongoing pandemic, 40 people have died in 7 mass shootings since March 2020, with the most recent shootings in Atlanta, Georgia and Boulder, Colorado killing a total of 18 people.
