Visualizing Water Shortages in Western Reservoirs

The Washington Post has released a series of visualizations depicting the intensity of drought conditions in Western states. The graphics show how far water levels in reservoirs across the region have fallen compared to each reservoir’s total capacity. For example, one of the graphics shows that the water level in Lake Shasta, California’s largest reservoir, has fallen to 37 percent of the lake’s full capacity.
