The New York Times has created a series of visualizations tracking wildfire risks to residential areas in the contiguous United States. The visualizations show which zip codes hold the highest wildfire risk today and in 30 years by color, with the regions experiencing the highest risk shown in shades of red. According to one visualization, half of the addresses in the contiguous United States face a risk of wildfires due to their proximity to combustible brush, past fires, and expected climate trends; however, that number will increase to 56 percent in the next 30 years.
