Axios, an online news publication, has created a series of visualizations tracking public interest in political issues by congressional district. One visualization uses Google Trends data to rank congressional districts by how often residents searched for certain political issues. The visualization displays higher-ranked congressional districts as darker shades of orange and uses a barcode chart to place congressional districts on a spectrum ranging from more to less interested. For example, according to this visualization, residents of Texas’s 32nd district, Oregon’s 6th district, and Kentucky’s 2nd district searched for the January 6th insurrection the most.
