The Washington Post has created a series of visualizations displaying the number and locations of Americans who married someone from their home state. One visualization compares the percentage of interstate or international marriages from 2017 to 2021 for each state, and shows the main birthplaces for spouses born elsewhere. According to the visualization, people from Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin are the most likely to marry someone from their home state while people from Alaska, the District of Columbia, and Nevada are the least likely.
