A data visualization on D.C.'s cherry blossom trees

The Wall Street Journal has created a data visualization tracking blooming periods for cherry blossom trees in Washington, D.C. The visualization shows the dates cherry blossom trees reached the floret extension, stem elongation, puffy white, and peak bloom stages every year from 2004 to 2023. According to the visualization, the average peak bloom date over the last 10 years was March 27, over a week before the historical average of April 4.
