Reuters has created a series of interactive visualizations comparing songs played at Eurovision. For each country, the visualizations portray Eurovision songs on Spotify as flowers, with the length of petals representing how songs score on different Spotify metrics, such as the use of acoustic instruments, positivity, tempo, danceability, energy levels, and loudness. It also denotes whether a song won the Eurovision competition with a yellow border around the petals. For example, ABBA, a Swedish music group, won the 1974 Eurovision competition with their song, “Waterloo.” The song scored highly on energy and loudness, above average on tempo and positivity, and below average on danceability and the use of acoustic instruments.
