Researchers at Stanford University and Adobe, a U.S.-based computer software company, have created a dataset of recordings of object impact sounds. The dataset contains 150,000 recordings of a small hammer striking 50 common objects, such as a ceramic mug and plastic bin. It also includes images of the impact and annotations detailing the locations of the impact and microphone and the impact force. Researchers can use the dataset to improve audio simulation methods.
