The Washington Post has created a series of visualizations tracking doughnut brand diversity and density in the United States. One visualization shows the most common doughnut brand in each census tract. According to the visualization, western and northern states prefer independent brands, the Midwest prefers either independent brands or Daylight Donuts, and the east coast prefers Dunkin’.
