The Washington Post has created a series of visualizations illustrating the arrival of the fall season in the United States. One visualization compares the release dates of pumpkin spice lattes at Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks Coffee, two U.S.-based coffee chain restaurants, every year since 2011. Another shows how most of the United States will likely experience warmer temperatures than usual in September, October, and November. According to the visualizations, shoppers may not be able to purchase pumpkin spice lattes while experiencing fall weather.
