Reporters Without Borders (RSF), a Paris-based nonprofit, has published its annual world press freedom index. Each year, the organization collects a tally of abuses against journalists in connection with their work and testimonies of press freedom specialists to assign scores ranging from 0-100 to each country. RSF then turns the data into an interactive map that shows the global state of press freedom, with the countries in red denoting the most serious violations.
