The Washington Post has created a series of visualizations showing the restaurant preferences of Democratic and Republican campaigns by analyzing campaign finance receipts between January 2023 and September 2024. According to the visualization, some cuisines, such as Italian food, cut across partisan divides, while others are particularly popular with only one of the parties. For example, steakhouses are the most popular restaurant choice for Republican campaign staff and candidates. Republicans also spent twice as much on barbeque compared to Democrats, indicating a broader preference for meat-heavy meals.
