Visual Capitalist has created a visualization showing how the share of each energy source (oil, natural gas, renewables, coal, and nuclear) is distributed across end-use sectors (transport, industrial, residential, commercial, and power generation), using most recent consumption data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. According to the visualization, the transportation sector consumes the most energy generated by oil, while the power sector accounts for most of the use of coal-generated energy.
