New Zealand’s geographic information agency, Land Information New Zealand, has developed a high‑resolution 3D coastal visualization that offers detailed views of the nation’s shoreline. Through the 3D Coastal Mapping Programme, the agency captured terrain, vegetation, buildings, and underwater features using laser‑based lidar mapping. The project provides continuous coastal maps that support hazard assessment, environmental planning, and long‑term monitoring.
