Bloomberg has created a series of visualizations that show how changing food prices are affecting countries around the world. One visualization shows that food inflation is affecting countries unevenly, with Lebanon and Zimbabwe experiencing more than a 500 percent increase in the cost of necessary food items, while Australia has only experienced less than a 1 percent increase in food inflation. Another visualization shows that food is the biggest cost for poorer countries. For example, consumers in Nigeria spend more than 50 percent of their money on food, whereas in the United States, consumers only spend 7 percent.
