The New York Times has created a series of visualizations that show the rise of anti-Asian violence in the United States over the past year. One visualization shows that  reports of harassment against people of Asian descent to the media from March 2020 to March 2021 have been mostly verbal and physical attacks, with 19 physical attacks taking place in March 2021 alone. Another visualization shows that in 2021, the number of anti-Asian hate crimes reported to the police has risen significantly in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, Boston, San Jose, and Dallas compared to the number of reports in the last five years.
