Reuters has produced a series of visualizations tracking the disruption to air travel caused by the India-Pakistan conflict. One of these charts, shown here, compares how flight durations changed for 75 daily routes between northern Indian cities and destinations that typically pass through Pakistani airspace. Using data from India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation, FlightRadar24, and Natural Earth, the visualization plots each flight’s deviation from its average pre-ban duration (y-axis) across the dates April 9 to 30 (x-axis). The more flights that experienced the same delay on a given day, the darker the dot appears on the chart. Flights to the Americas saw the greatest delays, averaging 2.8 hours longer, flights to Europe were extended by over an hour, and those to the Middle East by about 18 minutes.
