Researchers at Google have partnered with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute to create a visualization mapping a male fruit fly’s brain. The visual shows a complete connectome, or map, of more than 166,000 neurons and 125 million connections between them, covering the brain and other parts of the nervous system. The visual reveals how sensory information connects to movement and could help researchers study brain function, behavior, and larger nervous systems.
