Visualizing Brain Activity

Researchers at New York University have identified shared brain activity patterns that bilingual speakers use when applying grammatical rules across languages. Using MEG brain scans, the team found that Spanish-English bilinguals showed nearly identical neural activity when making words singular or plural. The findings suggest both languages rely on overlapping brain mechanisms, with English results shown on the left and Spanish results on the right.
